Create an account

Before you start#

All you need is a work email address. Signing up creates a new organization with you as its administrator. If your team already uses OrbGIS, don’t sign up here, ask an admin to invite you instead, so you join their organization.

Sign up#

1. Open the sign-up page

   Go to app.orbgis.se and choose Create one under the sign-in form (or follow any “Start free” link on this site).

2. Fill in the form

   Enter your Organization name, Your name, Work email and a Password of at least 10 characters, then confirm the password and press Create account.

3. Confirm your email

   OrbGIS sends a confirmation link to the address you entered. Click it to verify the account, you can’t sign in until you do.

4. Land in your portal

   After confirming you’re signed in at app.orbgis.se/portal, your organization’s home. From here you can upload data, build your first map and invite your team.

What sign-up creates#

• Your organization, with a URL slug derived from its name, for example “Acme GIS” becomes acme-gis. Published apps later live on acme-gis.orbgis.se; the portal itself is always app.orbgis.se.
• The four fixed roles, Admin, Publisher, Editor and Viewer. See Roles & privileges.
• Your membership as the organization’s Admin, with full access to settings, members and content.

Signing in and resetting your password#

Sign in at app.orbgis.se with your email and password. If you’ve forgotten the password, use Forgot password? on the sign-in page, OrbGIS emails you a reset link.
